This week’s module prices remain unchanged. Ground-mounted power station P-type monocrystalline 182 bifacial modules are priced at 0.76 RMB/W, P-type monocrystalline 210 bifacial at 0.77 RMB/W, TOPCon 182 bifacial at 0.80 RMB/W, and TOPCon 210 bifacial at 0.81 RMB/W.
Capacity Updates
The National Energy Administration has recently emphasized the need to rationally guide the construction and release of upstream photovoltaic capacity to avoid the repeated construction of low-end capacity. Additionally, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s new regulations on capacity replacement have intensified control over glass capacity. With the continued strengthening of supply-side policies, more outdated capacity is expected to be shut down, accelerating the market clearance process.
Bidding Developments
On June 20, the Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation, opened bids for the 2024 annual photovoltaic module framework procurement, with a total scale of 1GW and an average N-type price of 0.81 RMB/W.
Price Trends
Currently, there are no signs of demand improvement. With the increase in inventory, the market is expected to continue running weakly, and module prices still have downward potential.
Silicon/Ingots/Wafers/Cells Market
Silicon Prices
This week, silicon prices have declined. The average price of monocrystalline re-feeding is 37,300 RMB/ton, monocrystalline dense material is 35,700 RMB/ton, monocrystalline cauliflower material is 32,000 RMB/ton, N-type material is 39,500 RMB/ton, and N-type granular silicon is 35,300 RMB/ton.
Supply and Demand
Data from the Silicon Industry Association shows that with the release of new capacity, the production plan for June remains around 150,000 tons. With ongoing shutdowns for maintenance, the price pressure on enterprises has eased somewhat. However, the market is still oversupplied, and silicon prices have not yet bottomed out.
Wafer Prices
This week, wafer prices remain unchanged. The average price of P-type monocrystalline 182 wafers is 1.13 RMB/piece; P-type monocrystalline 210 wafers are 1.72 RMB/piece; N-type 182 wafers are 1.05 RMB/piece, N-type 210 wafers are 1.62 RMB/piece, and N-type 210R wafers are 1.42 RMB/piece.
Supply and Demand
Data from the Silicon Industry Association shows that the wafer production forecast for June has been adjusted upwards to 53GW, with specialized enterprises nearing full production. Wafer prices are expected to stabilize as they have basically bottomed out.
Cell Prices
This week, cell prices have declined. The average price of P-type monocrystalline 182 cells is 0.31 RMB/W, P-type monocrystalline 210 cells are 0.32 RMB/W, N-type TOPCon monocrystalline 182 cells are 0.30 RMB/W, N-type TOPCon monocrystalline 210 cells are 0.32 RMB/W, and N-type TOPCon monocrystalline 210R cells are 0.32 RMB/W.
Supply Outlook
Cell production for June is expected to be 53GW. Due to sluggish demand, enterprises continue to reduce production, and cells are still in a stage of inventory accumulation. In the short term, prices are expected to remain stable.
