On July 1, China Electric Equipment announced a landmark centralized procurement for energy storage batteries and energy storage PCS (Power Conversion Systems). This massive procurement includes 14.54 GWh of energy storage batteries and 11.652 GW of PCS bare machines. Additionally, the procurement includes EMS (Energy Management Systems), BMS (Battery Management Systems), CCS (Control and Communication Systems), and fire protection components. This tender sets a record for China Electric Equipment and is the largest energy storage procurement in China to date.
The procurement for energy storage batteries is divided into four sections and 11 packages. Eight of these packages specify the procurement requirements for battery cells with capacities of 50Ah, 100Ah, 280Ah, and 314Ah, totaling 14.54 GWh. Notably, 314Ah battery cells account for 76% of the procurement, totaling 11.1 GWh.
The other three packages are framework agreements without specific procurement scales.
The demand for PCS bare machines is divided into six packages, including specifications of 2500kW, 3150kW, and 3450kW. These are further classified into single-circuit, dual-circuit, and grid-connected types, with a total procurement scale of 11.652 GW. Of this, grid-connected energy storage PCS demand totals 1052.7 MW.
