1.Italy’s Renewable Energy Development is Rapid but Still Below TargetAccording to data from Terna, as reported by the Renewable Energy Department of the Italian Industrial Federation, Italy installed a total of 5,677 MW of renewable energy last year, an 87% increase year-on-year, setting a new record. Despite solidifying the growth trend over the 2021-2023 period, Italy is still far from reaching its target of adding 9GW of renewable energy annually.
2.India: Annual Addition of 14.5GW Solar PV Capacity for Fiscal Years 2025-2026
India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) predicts that in the fiscal years 2025 and 2026, India’s annual additional renewable energy capacity will remain between 15GW and 18GW. According to the company, 75% to 80% or up to 14.5GW of this new capacity will come from solar energy, while approximately 20% will be from wind energy.
