On November 8, the Silicon Industry Branch of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association released the latest transaction price of solar-grade polysilicon.
Past week:
The transaction price of N-type materials was 70,000-78,000 RMB/ton, with an average of 73,900 RMB/ton, a week-on-week decrease of 1.73%.
The transaction price of monocrystalline composite materials was 65,000-70,000 RMB/ton, with an average of 68,300 RMB/ton, a week-on-week decrease of 2.01%.
The transaction price of single crystal dense materials was 63,000-68,000 RMB/ton, with an average of 66,400 RMB/ton, a week-on-week decrease of 2.21%.
The transaction price of single crystal cauliflower material was 60,000-65,000 RMB/ton, with an average price of 63,100 RMB/ton, a week-on-week decrease of 2.92%.
According to what Sobi Photovoltaic Network has learned, the demand in the end market has been sluggish recently, especially the decline in demand in overseas markets. There are even “reflows” of some small-size modules, which has had an impact on the market. At present, under the influence of factors such as supply and demand, the operating rate of various links is not high, inventories are increasing, and prices continue to fall. It is reported that the price of 182mm silicon wafers has been widely lower than 2.4 RMB/piece, and the battery price is basically lower than 0.47 RMB/W, and corporate profit margins have been further compressed.
In terms of solar panel bidding prices, n- and p-type prices are constantly falling. In China Energy Construction’s 2023 photovoltaic module centralized procurement tender (15GW), which opened on November 6, the lowest bid price for p-type modules was 0.9403 RMB/W, and the lowest bid price for n-type modules was 1.0032 RMB/W (both excluding freight). The same The average price difference of enterprise n-p is less than 5 cents/W.
In the first batch of centralized procurement bidding for N-type photovoltaic modules of Datang Group Co., Ltd. in 2023-2024, which opened on November 7, n-type prices were further reduced. The lowest average quotation per watt was 0.942 RMB/W, with three companies bidding lower than 1 RMB/W. Obviously, as n-type high-efficiency battery production capacity continues to be launched and put into production, market competition among new and old players is becoming increasingly fierce.
Specifically, a total of 44 companies participated in this bidding, and the bidding price per watt was 0.942-1.32 RMB/W, with an average of 1.0626 RMB/W. After removing the highest and lowest, the average is 1.0594 RMB/W. The average bidding price of first-tier brands (Top 4) is 1.0508 RMB/W, and the average bidding price of new first-tier brands (Top 5-9) is 1.0536 RMB/W, both of which are lower than the overall average price. Obviously, major photovoltaic companies hope to strive for a higher market share by relying on their resources, brand accumulation, integrated layout, large-scale production and other advantages. Some companies will face greater operating pressure next year.
